There's always time for one last roundup
The Utah Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum is proud to present the Weber County Sheriff Mounted Posse as our special guest for our Tools of The Cowboy Trade Series. Come join us and help us celebrate the Weber County Sheriff Mounted Posse 75th Anniversary!
During World War II there was a need for blackouts throughout the community and it was felt horsemen would be more effective than a motorist in an emergency. In 1942 the Weber County Sheriff Mounted Posse was formed to offer their services to the local “Defense Council” and to serve in any capacity needed for the defense of their community and country.
They have evolved over the years to performing at parades and rodeos. Their community services is well known in the area with their support of the Miss Rodeo Ogden and Miss Rodeo Utah Contests, the Utah Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, the Boy Scouts of America, and Make a Wish Foundation.
This organization has served and represented the cowboy way of life with pride and service. Membership is open for anyone interested 18 years and older.
Come meet these remarkable people during the Art Stroll!
