First Friday Art Stroll – Featuring Don Walker

April 1, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Custom Book Maker Don Walker has been rescheduled as guest speaker at the Utah Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum Tools of the Trade Series for Ogden’s First Friday Art Stroll, April 1st, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the Union Station, 2501 Wall Avenue.  He will be discussing, demonstrating and displaying his craft of boot making.

Don lives in Spring City, Utah where he makes cowboy boots, cowboy packers, hiking boots, shoes and orthodic devices, as well as miscellaneous other leather items people dream up. He especially likes making nice western dress boots from fine leather with fancy stitching.

Owning a shoe and boot repair shop gave him the inspiration to make a better boot.  He studied with Master Book Maker Randy Merrill (the original designer of Merrill hiking boots).  He went on to make beautiful boots for many of the cowboys and cowgirls of Utah and elsewhere.
