Doyle Morrison has dedicated his life to preserving and promoting the western way of life through his leadership, horsemanship, volunteerism, and commitment to youth rodeo. Raised on a ranch near Downey, Idaho, Doyle developed an early appreciation for horses, ranching, and the values of hard work and integrity that would define his life. After graduating from Marsh Valley High School in 1959, he moved to Tremonton, Utah, with his wife, Marie, where they built a life centered around family, community service, and western heritage.
Professionally, Doyle spent many years with Thiokol Corporation, where he worked on D-5 Trident missile contracts and earned the respect of coworkers and customers through his honesty, strong work ethic, and ability to build lasting relationships.
Outside of his career, Doyle devoted countless hours to youth and equestrian programs. As a longtime member and Chief of the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Posse, he helped establish and support the Bear River High School Rodeo and participated in fundraising efforts that provided opportunities for youth through rodeos, trail rides, camping trips, and equestrian activities. He also contributed to search and rescue efforts and helped build the original indoor arena at the Box Elder County Fairgrounds.
Doyle served as a 4-H leader and advisor to the Bear River High School Rodeo Club, mentoring generations of young cowboys and cowgirls. His leadership extended statewide through the Utah High School Rodeo Association, where he served as Vice President, President-Elect, and President, helping move the state finals to their current home in Heber City.
An accomplished team roper, Doyle competed successfully for decades, winning numerous saddles and remaining active in the sport well into his 80s. As Chairman of the Golden Spike PRCA Rodeo, he helped elevate the event’s quality and reputation, contributing to its growth as one of Utah’s premier rodeos.
Through a lifetime of service, leadership, and dedication, Doyle Morrison has left a lasting impact on Utah’s western and rodeo communities.
