Shorty owned and operated a ranch in Pleasant View for sixty years, that attracted the youth from all over the state of Utah. He held the first high school rodeo in the state of Utah. Not only did he promote rodeo, he also served as arena director for the high school and college rodeos, and at the state finals.
He traded horses and cows for years and knew people all over the state. Many remember buying their first horse from Shorty.
He always had a team of horses which he used in the parades to carry a wagon full of politicians. Shorty is now deceased but will always be remembered.
