Chuck Story was an early member of the Weber County Sheriff’s Posse, helping it grow to a large and vital organization, that not only performed intricate drills at the rodeo each year, but also provided search and rescue services for Weber County, and rode in reenactments of the Pony Express ride.
In 1955, he and Earl Jones organized the Weber County Junior Posse, which helped hundreds of kids learn about horses and how to care for them. Sixty years later it is still going strong.
He also started a Cutter Racing Association in Ogden Valley.
Chuck served a two-year term as County Commissioner; served Ogden Pioneer Days from when it was first organized, starting the Horse Parade that is now known as The Horse and Hitch Parade; and was proud to serve as the Grand Marshal in the Pioneer Parade of 1976.
